Hoyo de Monterrey cuban brand very well known in the world and one of the largest (in terms of quantity of formed products).

 Its founder, and very well known among fans,  was the spanish Jose Gener, who in 1850 founded the brand The Escepcion de Jose Gener (then disappeard in 1980) and later, after purchasing a plantation  in Cuba  (finca) in the region where it grows the best cuban tobacco (said Vuelta Abajo), called  Hoyo de Monterrey, registered a second brand with this name.
